What it is

TritonSleep combines a dream journal, reality-check reminders and guided induction sessions. There is no account and no cloud. Favourites, mixes, journal entries, voice notes and session history stay on the phone. It cannot tell when you have entered a dream; that is an honest limit, not a missing setting.

The written how-to is how to lucid dream. The two supporting guides are reality checks and wake back to bed.

The techniques, with evidence ratings

Each guided session in the app carries an evidence rating so you can see which methods are well supported and which are enthusiast lore:

In English, each technique explainer has a Listen control that reads it aloud. Spoken guidance is off until you turn it on in Settings, and it is English only.

The 30-day course and reality checks

The first five days of the 30-day course are free; Premium unlocks the rest. Reality-check reminders fire locally on the phone. Recall and lucidity stats stay on the device. The journal itself is included: writing, an optional voice note, a dim night screen, a calendar and search. Premium adds dream signs, a PIN lock, overnight cues and wake-back-to-bed, and all guided content besides free MILD and dream incubation.

What it cannot do

The app cannot detect dreaming. No sensor on a phone can tell you that you have become lucid. The work is still yours: keep a journal, practise reality checks, and use a technique you can do without wrecking the rest of your sleep. Wake back to bed more than once or twice a week leaves most people tired.

Price and platforms

TritonSleep is free to download. Premium is €0.99 a month or €9.99 a year in Ireland. iPhone and iPad need iOS 16.4 or later. There are no ads and no TritonSleep account.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good lucid dreaming app?

One that teaches techniques with honest evidence ratings, reminds you to do reality checks, and keeps the journal on the phone. TritonSleep does that. It cannot detect when you are dreaming.

Does TritonSleep include MILD and WBTB?

Yes. Guided MILD and dream incubation are free. Wake back to bed, SSILD, WILD, FILD, overnight cues and the rest of the 30-day course are Premium after the first five days.

Can a lucid dreaming app detect dreams?

TritonSleep cannot. No consumer phone app can reliably detect that you have become lucid. The journal, reminders and guided sessions are the tools it actually provides.

Is the lucid dreaming content free?

The journal, MILD, dream incubation and the first five days of the 30-day course are included. Premium unlocks the rest, including wake-back-to-bed and journal extras such as dream signs and a PIN lock.

Does the journal leave the phone?

No. Entries, voice notes and stats stay on the device. There is no TritonSleep account and no cloud sync.
